കഴിഞ്ഞ ഭരണകാലത്തെ അഴിമതികൾ പുറത്തുവരുമെന്ന ഭയമാണ് സിപിഎമ്മിന്റെ പുതിയ നീക്കങ്ങൾക്ക് പിന്നിലെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. മുൻ മേയർ ആര്യ രാജേന്ദ്രന്റെ കാലത്തെ എസ്സി/എസ്ടി ഫണ്ട് തട്ടിപ്പ്, പിൻവാതിൽ നിയമനങ്ങൾ, കെട്ടിട നികുതി തട്ടിപ്പ് തുടങ്ങിയവയിൽ അന്വേഷണം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് മുൻ കോൺഗ്രസ് കൗൺസിലർ ശ്രീകുമാർ ഇതിനോടകം തന്നെ പുതിയ മേയർക്ക് പരാതി നൽകിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. തുടർച്ചയായ അഴിമതി ഭരണമാണ് സിപിഎമ്മിന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം നഷ്ടമാകാൻ കാരണമെന്ന വിലയിരുത്തലുകൾ ശക്തമാണ്.

The CPM is in deep distress after losing control of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, a stronghold they held for decades. The historic victory of the BJP in the capital city has dealt a significant political blow to the party.

In response to the defeat, the CPM is preparing for a legal battle, alleging procedural violations during the Mayor’s election. They claim that 20 members violated rules during the swearing-in and are demanding a re-poll. However, critics argue that this move stems from political intolerance following their defeat.
