1. പുത്തൂർ സുവോളജിക്കൽ പാർക്കിലെ മാനുകളുടെ മരണം

മാനേജ്‌മെൻ്റ് പിഴവാണോ, ദ്രുതഗതിയിലുള്ള ഉദ്ഘാടനം കാരണമാണോ മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത് എന്ന മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് മന്ത്രി മറുപടി നൽകി.

കുതിരാനിലെ വന്യജീവി പ്രശ്നവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ‘കുങ്കിയാനകൾ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും ദൗത്യം തുടങ്ങാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല’ എന്ന ചോദ്യത്തിന് മന്ത്രി മറുപടി നൽകി:

• ദൗത്യം: കുങ്കിയാനകൾ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടാണ് വന്യജീവികൾ ആ ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് വരാത്തത്. ആന ഇന്നലെ വന്നിട്ട് കുങ്കികളുടെ ഗന്ധം അടിച്ച് തിരിച്ചുപോവുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത് [07:41].

• റഡാർ സംവിധാനം: റഡാർ സംവിധാനം വളരെ ബലപ്രദമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. രാത്രികാലങ്ങളിലെ മൂവ്മെൻ്റ് ക്ലിയർ ആകാത്തത് പരിഹരിക്കാൻ സൗകര്യം ഒരുക്കും [07:55]. ആനയുടെ സഞ്ചാരപാത കിട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

• നിലപാട്: നിലവിൽ പി.എം. ശ്രീ നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ കേരളം ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നില്ല. പദ്ധതി മരവിപ്പിച്ചതായി ഇടതുപക്ഷ ജനാധിപത്യ മുന്നണി തീരുമാനിക്കുകയും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആ തീരുമാനം ക്യാബിനറ്റ് വഴി അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട് [08:50].

Minister K. Rajan primarily addressed the issue of the mass death of deer at the Puthur Zoological Park in Thrissur.

• Investigation: The incident is unfortunate. The Minister immediately contacted the Forest Minister, requesting an urgent investigation. A high-level team has been tasked with submitting a preliminary report within four days and a detailed report within two weeks [00:17].

• Post-Mortem Procedures: All procedures, including the post-mortem and cremation, were conducted with camera proceedings and led by a high-ranking team of veterinary doctors, including Dr. Arun Zachariah [00:43].

• Safety Audit: Safety audits were completed and certified even before the animals were relocated, with audits conducted in August 2023 and again in October. The Minister stated that the October audit did not provide any special instructions regarding safety [03:07].

2. Wildlife Issue in Kuthiran

When asked why the mission to capture a wild elephant in Kuthiran was delayed despite the presence of Kumki elephants, the Minister responded:

• Mission: The presence of the Kumki elephants is precisely why the wild elephant is avoiding the area. The elephant came close yesterday but turned back after detecting the scent of the Kumkis [07:41].

• Radar System: The radar system is working effectively. Efforts will be made to resolve the issue of unclear movements during the night [07:55]. The elephant’s movement path has been tracked.

3. PM-Shri Scheme Controversy

The Minister commented on the internal differences within the Left Democratic Front (LDF) regarding the implementation of the PM-Shri scheme:

• Stance: Kerala is currently not planning to implement the PM-Shri scheme. The LDF decided to freeze the project, and the Chief Minister conveyed this cabinet decision to the public [08:50].
