Varkala’s Touch of Affection; President Droupadi Murmu Greets Students, Accepts Guard of Honour

A rare moment during the journey of the Commander-in-Chief of India and President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, during her visit to Kerala in Varkala, is gaining attention. The President was travelling from the helipad at Varkala Cliff to Sivagiri. The President proceeded by offering a gesture of affection on Varkala’s soil during this journey. This heartwarming incident took place in front of the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Varkala. When the President’s vehicle arrived in front of the school, the President accepted the spectacular Guard of Honour presented by the Student Police Cadets (SPC). This was an act of respect shown by the children to the First Citizen of India. After accepting the Guard of Honour, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu stepped down from her convoy, breaking the security cordon. She approached the assembled students and spoke with them, offering them her hand. The President took the time to personally shake hands with the students and receive their affection. This moment, where the President, who normally travels under tight security, stopped her vehicle and stepped out for the children, became an unforgettable experience for the students of Varkala. The arrival of someone holding the nation’s highest office became a great inspiration for the children. The simplicity and affection of the President, who interacted with ordinary people despite the grandeur of her full official position, makes these visuals more beautiful.
